Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical and Electrical Production Assembler to join our growing production team. This position requires hands-on experience building full mechanical/electrical systems, performing final testing and calibration, and assisting in product prototyping. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing quality work, follows precise specifications, and wants to contribute to building world-class laser measuring systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble complete units from subassemblies with precision and consistency.
  • Perform final system testing to ensure products meet LPI’s quality control standards.
  • Calibrate systems and components to ensure all performance specs and tolerances are met.
  • Execute incoming parts inspection to confirm adherence to mechanical and electrical specifications.
  • Assist in prototyping and testing new products and assemblies in collaboration with Engineering.
  • Perform detailed mechanical and electrical assembly using soldering, torqueing, and alignment tools.
  • Read and interpret build documents, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Document build/test results and any quality issues or adjustments made during assembly.
  • Support process improvement initiatives in the production department.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety procedures.

Skills & Qualifications

Required
  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical or trade school a plus.
  • 3–5 years of mechanical and/or electrical assembly experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build full products from subassemblies.
  • Experience with testing equipment, calibration tools, and quality control procedures.
  • Able to read and follow engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and test protocols.
  • Strong understanding of soldering, wiring, fasteners, alignment, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with calibration standards and precision measurement tools.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to support new product development.
  • Basic computer proficiency for logging test data and accessing documentation.

Compensation

Salary
  • $22.00 – $28.00/hour, depending on experience
