Adding Drop-Ins
Comments
Any .dxf/.dwg file can become a drop-in in the LT-55 XL software. To do so, it must first be saved as an R-12 .dxf/.dwg file. This is a standard CAD file that all current CAD programs can save as. There are two methods as outlined below.
Method 1: Create your own Drop-in folder
- Save the .dxf you wish to use as a drop-in as an R-12 .dxf/.dwg file in CAD.
- Copy that .dxf/.dwg file into a user created folder at any location on the computer (Deskktop, Documents etc.)
- In the Laser Templator software, go to Edit / Options / General Settings. Scroll down about 2/3 and under Miscellaneous Settings click the browse button (…) next to Drop-in folder.
- Navigate to the folder you created in Step 2 and select it. Once it is selected in and displayed in the field next to Drop-in Folder click OK.
- Restart the software.
Method 2: Use existing Drop-in folder
- Save the .dxf you wish to use as a drop-in as an R-12 .dxf/.dwg file in CAD.
- Copy that .dxf/.dwg file into the Templates folder. This is located at C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Laser Templator\v2.0\Templates. (“Laser Templator” might be “LT-55 XL” in older versions of the software)
- All files in this folder will be visible in the Drop-In portion of the Laser Templator software.
- If you want, you can organize the drop-ins by making folders. We ship some sample drop-ins that are organized in Elkay, IPT, Kohler and Samples folders. Just copy this concept if you wish to create your own organization.
Define (0,0)
Once the .dxf/.dwg drop-in is in the Laser Templator software, you will need to Define (0,0). This is going to mark the location that the drop-in will be snapped to. Usually this will be the front center of the sink. For instructions on using the Define (0,0) function click here.
